Knock Sensor: Removal

  1. Drain engine coolant. Remove "V" bank cover. See Figure. Remove air cleaner and intake air connector assembly. Disconnect EVAP hose clamp from left No. 3 timing belt cover. See Figure. Disconnect high-tension wire grommet. Remove left No. 3 timing belt cover.
  2. Disconnect accelerator cable, A/T throttle control cable and cruise control actuator cable. Remove accelerator bracket. Disconnect wiring harness connectors as necessary.
  3. Label and disconnect vacuum hoses as necessary. Disconnect coolant hoses as necessary. Remove No. 2 EGR pipe and gaskets. Remove air intake chamber assembly. Disconnect knock sensor and remove sensor.
