Test 10: Fuel Gauge Problem

  1. Check speedometer and tachometer operation. If speedometer and tachometer are not operating properly, disconnect connector "D". Check continuity between connector "D" terminal No. 12 and ground. If continuity exists, replace instrument panel computer and retest. If continuity does not exist, repair open circuit between connector "D" terminal No. 12 and ground.
  2. If speedometer and tachometer operation is normal, check sending unit. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT under COMPONENT TESTS . Replace as needed. Check gauge. See FUEL GAUGE under COMPONENT TESTS . Replace as needed. If sending unit and gauge are okay, replace instrument panel computer and retest.
