Test 17: Engine Oil Level Warning Light Is Always On

  1. Check GAUGE fuse. Replace as needed. Disconnect connector "D". Turn ignition on. Check voltage at connector "D" terminal No. 3. If voltage does not exist, repair open circuit between GAUGE fuse and connector "D" terminal No. 3. Reconnect connector "D". Disconnect connector "C". Turn ignition on. After 40 seconds, light should illuminate. If light comes on, go to next step. If light does not illuminate, check light bulb. Replace as needed. If bulb is okay, install a known good circuit plate and retest. If light still does not illuminate, replace instrument panel computer and retest.
  2. Check oil level warning light. See OIL LEVEL SWITCH CIRCUIT  under COMPONENT TESTS. If oil level warning light is okay, check oil level switch. See OIL LEVEL SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS . If oil level warning light operation is not okay, repair wiring between connector "C" terminal No. 7 and oil level warning switch terminal No. 1.
