Test 10: Fuel Level Warning Light Does Not Light

  1. Check light bulb. Replace as needed. Connect terminal FE and FR on fuel sender gauge. See Fig 1. Turn ignition on. If warning light illuminates after 17 seconds, go to next step. If warning light does not illuminate, replace fuel sender gauge.
  2. Check continuity of wiring between fuel sender gauge connector terminals and instrument panel connector terminals. See FUEL SENDER WIRING CONTINUITY  table. If continuity does not exist, repair wiring between fuel sender gauge and combination meter.
  3. Remove power source unit. Check continuity of instrument panel circuit plate. See Fig 2. Continuity should exist between A and a7, B and a8. Replace instrument panel printed circuit if continuity does not exist. If continuity exists, replace power source unit.
