Test 37: Brake Warning Light Problem

  1. Check light bulb. Replace as needed. If light bulb is okay, disconnect instrument panel connector "D". Ground instrument panel connector "D" terminal No. 18. Turn ignition on. If brake warning light does not illuminate, check brake fluid level warning switch. Repair switch or wiring as needed. If brake warning light illuminates, ground instrument panel connector "D" terminal No. 19.
  2. Turn ignition on. If brake warning light does not illuminate, check parking brake switch. Repair switch or wiring as needed. If brake warning light illuminates, remove instrument panel circuit plate. Check continuity between terminal b4 and A. See Fig 1. If continuity does not exist, replace power source unit and retest. If continuity exists, replace circuit plate and retest.
