Without Memory

  1. Remove tilt and telescopic control module. With ignition off, measure voltage between tilt and telescopic control module connector T9, terminals No. 7 and No. 18. See Figure and Figure . If voltage is not 10-16 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10-16 volts, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING  and identify next circuit to be checked.
  2. Measure resistance between tilt and telescopic control module connector T9, terminal No. 7 and ground. If resistance is less than one ohm, go to next step. If resistance is not less than one ohm, repair open in White/Black wire between control module connector T9, terminal No. 7 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  3. Check 10 amp SEC HORN fuse. If fuse is okay, check for open in White/Blue wire between tilt and telescopic control module connector T10, terminal No. 20 and fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If fuse is blown, check and repair short Blue/Yellow wire between tilt and telescopic control module connector T10, terminal No. 20 and fuse block.
