Test 8: Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Signal Problem

Test drive and check odometer operation. If odometer is bad, go to TEST 13. If odometer is okay, disconnect instrument panel connector "C". Raise and support vehicle. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between connector "D" terminal No. 2 and ground. Voltage should vary between zero volts and 5 volts or more while rotating driveshaft. If voltage is not as specified, replace circuit plate and retest. If voltage is as specified, repair wiring between connector "D" terminal No. 2 and ECU.
