Using Check Harness

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Lexus SC 400. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. When checking voltage and resistance at ECM connector terminals, use Check Harness (SST 09990-01000, also called Check Harness "A") to prevent damaging terminals. See Fig 1.
  2. To connect check harness, disconnect ECM connectors. ECM is located underneath top of passenger-side carpet (behind glove box) and is mounted to floor panel. Connect the check harness between ECM and harness connectors.
  3. Connectors and terminals on check harness match those of ECM. Wire colors that are specified in procedures apply to ECM connectors, but may not apply to check harness connectors. To identify connectors and terminals, see appropriate illustration under CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION .
