Memory Set Switch Circuit

  1. Remove tilt and telescopic control module and leave harness connectors connected. With ignition off, measure voltage between tilt and telescopic control module connector T10, terminals No. 8 and No. 11. See Figure. With memory set switch on, voltage should be less than one volt. With memory set switch off, voltage should be 10-14 volts. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step. If voltage is as specified, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING  and identify next circuit to be checked.
  2. Disconnect driving position memory and return switch connector. Measure resistance between memory and return switch connector terminals No. 3 and No. 4. See Fig 1. With memory set switch on, continuity should exist between measured terminals. With memory set switch off, resistance should be more than one megaohm. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace memory and return switch and retest system.
  3. Check and repair wiring harness and connectors between tilt and telescopic control module and memory and return switch. If wiring harness and connectors are okay, replace tilt and telescopic control module and retest system.
