Test 17: Engine Oil Level Warning Light Is Always On

  1. Turn ignition on. Start engine within 15 seconds. If light stays illuminated or comes back on after engine is started, go to next step. If light goes out and stays out, disconnect generator connector. If light illuminates, repair wiring. If light does not illuminate, check generator.
  2. Connect connector "B" terminal No. 8 to ground. If light illuminates, replace circuit plate and retest. If light does not illuminate, check oil level warning switch. See OIL LEVEL SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS . Replace as needed. If oil level warning switch is okay, repair wiring between instrument panel connector "B" terminal No. 8 and switch.
