Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence

Using the sequence shown and in several passes, install and uniformly tighten the 10 cylinder head bolts with plate washers to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.) on one cylinder head in, then repeat on the other side.





Mark the front of the cylinder head bolt head with paint.
Retighten the cylinder head bolts by 90° in the numerical order shown.
Check that the painted mark is now at a 90° angle to front.
