Trunk Key Lock & Unlock Switch Circuit
- Access trunk lock and unlock switch. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter connected to ground, backprobe switch connector terminal No. 1 (Blue/Orange wire). Battery voltage should not exist with key turned to unlock position. Battery voltage should exist when key is not turned in lock. If voltage readings are as specified, check ECU. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS (connector T8 terminal No. 9). If found to be defective, replace ECU and retest system. If voltage readings are not as specified, turn ignition off. Go to next step.
- Disconnect trunk lock and unlock switch connector. Check continuity between switch terminals No. 3 (White/Black wire) and No. 1 (Blue/Orange wire). Continuity should exist with key turned to unlock position. Continuity should not exist when key is not turned in lock. If continuity is not as specified, replace switch. If continuity is as specified, check wiring between switch, ECU and ground. Repair as needed. If wiring is okay, check ECU. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If found to be defective, replace ECU and retest system.
