Test 11: Fuel Level Warning Light Does Not Light/Always Lit

  1. Disconnect instrument panel connector "D". Ground connector "D" terminal No. 15. Turn ignition on. If fuel level warning light illuminates, go to next step. If fuel level warning light does not illuminate, check light bulb. Replace as needed. If bulb is okay, install a known good circuit plate and retest.
  2. Check fuel level warning light. See FUEL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT SYSTEM  under COMPONENT TESTS. If fuel level warning light is okay, check fuel level warning switch. See FUEL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT SYSTEM  under COMPONENT TESTS. If fuel level warning light operation is not okay, repair wiring between connector "D" terminal No. 15 and sending unit terminal No. 1.
