Test Drive Confirmation

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) No. 3. See Figure. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Operate vehicle at 43-56 MPH for 3 minutes or more. Stop vehicle, and allow it to idle for about 2 minutes. Turn ignition off.
  2. Start engine and allow it to idle. Operate vehicle at 43-56 MPH for 3 minutes or more. Stop vehicle and allow it to idle for about 2 minutes.
  3. Check READINESS TESTS mode on scan tool. If COMPL is displayed on scan tool and MIL is not illuminated, system is normal. If INCPL is displayed and MIL is not illuminated, repeat test drive procedure.
