Test 7: Clutch Switch Circuit: M/T

  1. If starter operates with clutch pedal released, check for fault in starter circuit. See STARTER article. If starter operates with clutch pedal pressed, check clutch switch input signal circuit. See INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUITS .
  2. If input signal circuit is okay, perform next procedure listed in DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM  table under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If input signal circuit is not okay, remove cruise control ECU, but leave electrical connector(s) attached.
  3. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 of cruise control ECU connector. See Figure. With clutch pedal pressed, less than 2 volts should be present. With clutch pedal released, battery voltage should be present.
  4. If voltage is as specified, perform next procedure listed in DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM  table under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If voltage is not as specified, check for faulty circuit between cruise control ECU and ST fuse. Repair circuit if necessary. If circuit is okay, replace cruise control ECU.
