Door Courtesy Switch Circuit

  1. Open driver door and ensure door courtesy light comes on. If door courtesy light comes on, go to next step. If door courtesy light does not come on, check and repair door courtesy light circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  2. Remove tilt and telescopic control module and leave harness connectors connected. With ignition off, measure voltage between tilt and telescopic control module connector T10, terminal No. 2 and ground. See Figure. With drivers door open, voltage should be less than one volt. With drivers door closed, voltage should be 10-14 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING  and identify next circuit to be checked. If voltage is not as specified, check and repair open in wiring harness between tilt and telescopic control module and drivers door courtesy switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
