Fuel Level Warning Light System
- Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit connector. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Red wire) and No. 3 (Brown wire) of harness connector. See Figure.
- If fuel level warning light illuminates, go to next step. If warning light does not illuminate, check bulb. If bulb is okay, check wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Remove fuel gauge sending unit. Connect a 3.4-watt test light between battery positive terminal and sending unit connector terminal No. 1. Connect negative battery terminal to terminal No. 3 of fuel gauge sending unit connector.
- Test light should come on after a few moments. Submerge entire sending unit (or fuel level sensor portion) in a container of fuel. Test light should go out. If operation is not as specified, replace sending unit.
