Test No. 18 - Instrument Panel Ecu Communication Problem: Testing

  1. Start engine. Check operation of tachometer and speedometer. If operation is okay, go to next step. If tachometer and speedometer do not operate, replace instrument panel.
  2. Disconnect 25-pin connector B6 from body No. 2 ECU. Disconnect 18-pin connector C13 from instrument panel ECU. Disconnect Gray 10-pin connector T5 from tilt/telescopic ECU. Check continuity of White wire between body No. 2 ECU connector B6 terminal No. 19 and instrument panel connector C13 terminal No. 11. See Figure and Figure. Check continuity of White wire, through connector and Blue wire between instrument panel connector C13 terminal No. 2 and tilt/telescopic ECU connector T5 terminal No. 6. See Figure and Figure. See WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  3. If continuity exists on both wires, replace instrument panel ECU. If continuity does not exist or one or both wires, repair wiring as necessary.
