Sensor Rotor: Installation

  1. Install speed sensor rotor. Install NEW nut on axle hub, and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Stake axle nut using a punch. Install grease cap.
  2. Install steering knuckle to lower ball joint. Temporarily tighten 2 retaining bolts. Install steering knuckle to upper arm. Tighten steering knuckle to specification. Tighten 2 lower ball joint bolts to specification.
  3. Install brake rotor, aligning reference marks made during removal. Install brake caliper. Tighten caliper retaining bolts. Install speed sensor on steering knuckle.
  4. Install front wheels, and lower vehicle. Turn air suspension switch on (if equipped). Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .


  1. Install ABS speed sensor rotor onto axle shaft. During installation, use care to avoid damaging CV joint boots, ABS speed sensor rotor on axle shaft and oil seal in axle hub. Insert outboard CV joint side into axle hub assembly. Align reference marks made during removal, and install axle shaft on differential.
  2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to 6 axle shaft bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
  3. Install rear wheels, and lower vehicle. Turn air suspension switch on (if equipped). Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
