Oil Level Switch

  1. Remove engine oil level switch located on right side of engine. Using an ohmmeter, and with switch sensor temperature less than 122°F (50°C), check for continuity across 2-pin switch connector in each float position. Continuity should exist in all float positions.
  2. Heat switch to above 140°F (60°C) in oil bath. Continuity should exist between switch connector terminals with float in up (ON) position. Continuity should not exist with float in down (off) position. If switch operation is not as specified, replace switch and ensure continuity between wiring connector terminal No. 2 and ground.
