Fuel System Pressure Release

  1. Disconnect electrical connector from fuel pump. Fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. Start engine and allow engine to idle until engine stalls. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Place suitable container under any easily accessible fuel line connection. Cover fuel line connection with shop towel. Slowly loosen fuel line connection, allowing fuel pressure to be released. If disconnecting quick connector, see FUEL LINE QUICK CONNECTOR . Once fuel pressure is released, fuel system components may be serviced.
