NOTE: Ensure key is not in ignition switch. Open and unlock driver's door. Close and lock other doors. Add mode adds an additional transmitter. Rewrite mode rewrites a transmitter.

  2. Perform this step in 40 seconds or less: Press door lock control switch 5 times to LOCK/UNLOCK at about one-second intervals. Insert key in ignition switch. To put system in add mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK positions one time at about one-second intervals. To put system in rewrite mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK positions 2 times at about one-second intervals. Remove key from ignition switch.
  3. This step will be performed in 3 seconds or less: MPX body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation once at one-second intervals to inform operator that add mode has been selected. MPX body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation twice at one-second intervals to inform operator that rewrite mode has been selected.
  4. Within 20 seconds, press any one of 3 transmitter buttons for more than one second. If LOCK/UNLOCK occurs once, registration of recognition code is completed. If LOCK/UNLOCK occurs twice, registration of recognition code was not completed. Repeat programming procedure.
  5. After programming is completed, registration of recognition code is completed 20 seconds after MPX body ECU response, driver's door is closed, key is inserted in ignition switch, or 4 types of recognition codes are registered at one time.
