Description & Operation
Body control system controls the following systems: anti-theft, automatic light control, illuminated entry, keyless entry, power door locks and rear wiper/washer. Instrument panel Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may be used along with other controllers for controlling the various systems. Instrument panel ECU may also be referred to as instrument panel control ECU, instrument ECU or body ECU. Instrument panel ECU is located behind center of instrument panel and contains a 14-pin, 18-pin and 22-pin electrical connector. See Fig 1.
NOTE:
Instrument panel ECU is connected to the tilt and telescopic ECU by use of multiplex control system. For additional information on multiplex control system, see MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEMS article.
