Deceleration Sensor

CAUTION: Do not allow sensor to be turned upside down.
  1. Remove deceleration sensor located under center of instrument panel, in front of shift lever. Connect three 1.5 volt dry cell batteries in series. Connect positive battery lead to VGS terminal on deceleration sensor connector. See Fig 1. Connect negative lead to GGND terminal. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between voltage between terminals GGND and GL1.
  2. With sensor in horizontal position, voltage should be about 2.3 volts. Lean sensor forward. Voltage should be .4-2.3 volts (approximately). Lean sensor rearward. Voltage should be 2.3-4.1 volts (approximately). Replace sensor as needed.
