Fuel Level Warning Light: Switch
Remove fuel gauge sending unit. Connect negative battery terminal to sending unit terminal No. 1. See Fig 1. Connect a 3.4-watt test light between battery positive terminal and sending unit connector. Test light should come on after a few moments. Submerge entire sending unit (or fuel level sensor portion) into a container of fuel. Test light should go out. If operation is not as specified, replace sending unit.
