Deceleration Sensor Check
NOTE:
DO NOT apply 6 volts or more to sensor terminals VGS and GGND.
CAUTION:
If sensor is tilted too much, voltage value may be incorrect. If sensor is dropped, replace sensor. Do not turn sensor upside down while removed from vehicle.
Locate deceleration sensor under center console, rearward of shift lever. Disconnect deceleration sensor 5-pin Black connector and remove deceleration sensor. Connect 3 dry batteries of 1.5 volts in series to sensor terminals. Connect batteries positive terminal to VGS terminal. Connect batteries negative terminal to GGND terminal. Apply about 4.5 volts between terminals VGS and GGND. See Fig 1. Using a DVOM, check output voltage at terminals GL1 and GL2. See DECELERATION SENSOR VOLTAGE table.
