Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

  1. Disconnect accelerator position sensor connector. Do not confuse accelerator position sensor with throttle position sensor. Both sensors have 4-pin connectors and are mounted on throttle body. Check wire colors to help identify accelerator position sensor connector. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  2. Measure resistance between terminals E2 and VC at accelerator pedal position sensor. See Fig 1. If resistance is not as specified, replace accelerator pedal position sensor. See ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE  table.

GS300 & SC300 1200-3200
GS400, LS400 & SC400 1640-3280
(1) With temperature at 68°F (20°C).
