Throttle Control Motor

Throttle control motor consists of a magnetic clutch, throttle position sensor, and a DC motor. ECM calculates optimal throttle valve opening appropriate for respective driving condition and uses throttle control motor to control the opening. Magnetic clutch engages the clutch to enable throttle control motor to open and close throttle valve. If any of following conditions occur, clutch is disengaged to prevent throttle control motor from opening and closing throttle valve.

• Cruise main switch is turned off.
• CANCEL switch is turned on.
• Brake pedal or clutch pedal is pressed.
• Parking brake is applied.
• Vehicle speed decreases to less than 25 MPH.
• Difference between actual and set speeds is 10 MPH.
• Vehicle Skid Control (VSC) is activated.
• Stoplight switch circuit malfunction.
• Electronically controlled throttle system malfunction.
• Vehicle speed sensor malfunctions.
• Circuit problem occurs.
