Trouble Shooting

NOTE: Check circuits and components in listed order. If circuits or components are okay, return to trouble shooting and identify next circuit to be checked.
SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS

Problem Inspect
Manual & Auto Return Functions Do Not Operate
Tilt & Telescopic (1) ECU Power Source Circuit; (1) Actuator Power Source Circuit; (1) Key Unlock Warning Switch Circuit; (1) Sensor Power Source Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
Tilt Only (1) Tilt Position Sensor Circuit; (1) Tilt Motor Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
Telescopic Only (1) Telescopic Position Sensor Circuit; (1) Telescopic Motor Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
Auto Return Or Auto Return Cut Function Does Not Operate (1) Auto Set Switch Circuit; (1) Key Unlock Warning Switch Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
Memory Function Does Not Operate (1) Memory Set Switch Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
Only Manual Function Does Not Operate
Tilt & Telescopic (1) Tilt & Telescopic Manual Switch Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
Tilt Only (1) Tilt & Telescopic Manual Switch Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
Telescopic Only (1) Tilt & Telescopic Manual Switch Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
Only Return Function Does Not Operate
Any Condition (1) Memory & Return Switches Circuit; (1) Memory Set Switch Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
With Key Inserted In Ignition Only (1) Ignition Switch Circuit; (1) Park/Neutral Position Switch Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
With Key Not Inserted In Ignition Only (1) Door Courtesy Switch Circuit; (1) Key Unlock Warning Switch Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
With Memory & Return Switch 1 & 2 Only (1) Memory & Return Switches Circuit; (2) Tilt & Telescopic ECU
(1) Perform appropriate circuit test under CIRCUIT TESTS . If more than one circuit test is listed, perform tests in order listed.
(2) Perform TILT & TELESCOPIC ECU PIN VOLTAGE TESTS  under COMPONENT TESTS. Repair or replace components as necessary.
