Line Pressure Test

  1. Move right-side heat insulator aside (if applicable). Remove plug from right side of transmission case and install appropriate pressure gauge.
  2. Remove passenger-side carpet and protector to gain access to ECT ECU. Backprobe ECT ECU harness connector No. E17 (17-pin), terminal No. 14 (SLN-). Connect a jumper lead with an 8-watt in-line bulb to terminal No. 14 (SLN-) of harness connector. DO NOT ground jumper at this time.
  3. Apply parking brake. Block wheels. Start engine. Ensure idle speed is within manufacturer's specification. Place transmission in "D" range.
  4. Measure accumulator backpressure. See ACCUMULATOR BACKPRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Repeat procedure with jumper lead connected to ground. Compare all readings to specification.
