Anti-Theft Systems: Description
WARNING:
Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
When anti-theft system is set (armed), system locks all doors, flashes headlights and taillights, and sounds alarm if one of the following conditions occur. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
- Any door, luggage compartment door (trunk lid) or engine hood is forcibly opened.
- Battery cable is disconnected, and then reconnected.
- System receives panic signal from remote keyless entry system.
