Test No. 7: Driver's Door Unlock Detection Switch Circuit

NOTE: If LEXUS scan tool is available, start test from step  1. If this scan tool is not available, start test from step  2.
  1. Using scan tool, check driver's door unlock detection switch using DATA LIST. If door unlock detection switch is faulty, go to next step. If door unlock detection switch is okay, see MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEMS - GS300 & GS430 article.
  2. Check driver's door unlock detection switch. See DOOR UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace door unlock detection switch (motor assembly) as necessary. Retest system operation. If switch is okay, go to next step.
  3. Check circuits for faults between driver's door unlock detection switch and driver's door ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair or replace as necessary. If circuits are okay, perform TEST NO. 11: ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH CIRCUIT .
