Without Hand-Held Tester

  1. Using special tool (09843-18040), connect terminals Tc and CG of DLC3. See Figure.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON. Read the DTC from the ABS warning light blinking patterns on the combination meter. If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time the lowest numbered DTC will be displayed first. For the blinking patterns for normal and codes 11 and 21 see Figure. For diagnostic trouble code definitions see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
  3. If a code does not appear, inspect the Tc terminal circuit or ABS warning light circuit. See SYSTEM TESTING .
  4. Read the information from the multi-information display on the combination meter. "VSC OK" is displayed when VSC system is normal. If any DTC is detected, "VSC 31", for example, will be displayed. If there are 2 or more DTC, they will be displayed in ascending order of the number. If no code appears, test the VSC warning indicator circuit and Tc terminal circuit. See SYSTEM TESTING .
