Using Hand-Held Tester

NOTE: Always record DTCs during retrieval.
NOTE: An OBD II scan tool complying with SAE J1978 can be used if Lexus hand-held tester is not available.

Prepare the hand-held tester. Connect the hand-held tester to DLC3. See Fig 1. Turn the ignition switch ON and switch the hand-held tester main switch ON. Use the hand-held tester to check the DTCs, note them down. For operating instructions, see the hand-held tester instruction manual.
