Toyota 4Runner

NOTE: Manufacturer does not provide removal and installation information for shift interlock solenoid.
  1. Disconnect the solenoid connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminal SLS+ and SLS-. See Fig 1. Resistance should be 21-27 ohms. If resistance value is not as specified, replace the solenoid. See Figure.
  2. Momentarily supply battery positive voltage and ground at terminal SLS+ and SLS-. See Fig 2. Ensure that an operating noise can be heard from the solenoid. If the solenoid does not operate, replace the solenoid. See Figure.
