Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lexus LX 470. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check the continuity of the ECU-IG and CIGAR fuses located in the LH cowl side junction block behind the left side kick panel. If there is continuity, go to the next step. If there is not continuity, replace the failure fuse.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON. Measure the voltage between terminals No. I19-21 (ACC), I21-2 (SIG) and I21-4 (GND1) of the body ECU (instrument ECU) connector. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If there is voltage between 10-14 volts, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX  table. If the voltage is not as specified, go to the next step.
  3. Check the wiring harness and connector between the body ECU and body ground. If the results are OK, check and repair the wiring harness and connector between the body ECU and battery. If the results are not good, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
