Inspection Procedure

  1. Check that the automatic transmission (A/T) shift operates normally. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, proceed to the automatic transmission trouble shooting. See DIAGNOSIS - A-343F article under AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION in TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION.
  2. Check the harness and connector between the body ECU (instrument ECU) and park/neutral position switch. If the results are OK, check and replace the body ECU. See BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT ECU)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not good, repair or replace the harness or connector.
