Front Seat: Overhaul

  1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER FRONT LH 
  3. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER FRONT LH 
  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER RH REAR INNER 
  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER LH REAR OUTER 
  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSY LH 

    HINT:

    Set the front vertical in the most upper position.

    1. Remove the 4 bolts.
    2. Disconnect the connectors and then remove the front seat assembly LH.
  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSY 
  8. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
  9. REMOVE SLIDE & VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the 4 screws.
    2. Disengage the claws and then remove the front seat cushion shield LH.

  11. REMOVE POWER SEAT FRONT LH SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and the power seat front LH switch assembly.
  12. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 
    1. Disconnect the connectors.
    2. Remove the 3 screws and the front power seat switch.
  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the connectors.
    2. Remove the bolt and the front seat inner belt assembly LH.
  14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws.
    2. Disengage the claws and then remove the front seat cushion shield inner LH.

  15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER NO.1 LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and the front seat cushion shield inner No.1 LH.
  16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the clamps and connectors of each wire harness.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and front seat cushion assembly LH.
  17. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSY (W/POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and the position control ECU assembly.
  18. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER 
    1. Remove the hog rings and the front seat cushion cover LH.
  19. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER) 
    1. Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seat heater, and then remove the seat heater from the cushion cover.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the seat cushion cover.
  20. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK BOARD SUB-ASSY LH 
    1. Disengage the clips.
    2. Pulling the front seat back board LH downward, remove it.

  21. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK ASSY 
    1. Remove the hog rings at the lower portion of the seat back cover.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and the front seat back assembly LH.
    3. Remove the 2 screws and reclining adjuster inside cover LH.
    4. w/ Side airbag:

      Disconnect the wire harness of the side airbag from the inside cover LH.

    5. Remove the front seat back assembly LH.

    6. Remove the 2 screws and the reclining adjuster inside cover RH.
  22. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK COVER 
    1. Turn up the front seat back cover.
    2. w/ Side airbag:

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the seat back cover bracket.

    3. Remove the 2 headrest supports, and the front seat back cover LH from the front seat back frame.
    4. Remove the hog rings, and front seatback cover LH from the seat back pad.

  23. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK HEATER ASSY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER) 
    1. Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seat heater, and then remove the seat heater from the seat back cover.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the seat back cover.
  24. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSY LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and the lumber support adjuster assembly LH.
  25. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR 
    1. Separate each connector from the front seat wire LH.
    2. Remove the 2 screws each to remove the front slide power seat motor assembly (sliding), power seat motor assembly (reclining), power seat motor assembly (front vertical) and front up/down power seat motor assembly (lifter).
  26. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIR BAG SENSOR 
    1. Remove the screw and seat position airbag sensor.
  27. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BACK HEATER ASSY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER) 
    1. Set the seat heater to the seat back cover.
    2. Install the seat heater to the seat back cover with the 6 tack pins.
      NOTE: Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.

  28. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK COVER 
    NOTE:
    • For a vehicle with side airbag, if the seat back cover has damage the side airbag may not active normally, and therefore it is necessary to replace the seat back cover.
    • For a vehicle with side airbag, if the side airbag deploys replace the pad, seat back cover and the frame with new ones.
    • For a vehicle with side airbag, the side airbag may not active normally unless the seat back cover is securely installed, as shown in the following procedures.
    1. Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to damage the cover.
      • When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as little as possible.

    2. w/ Side airbag:

      Install the seat back cover bracket.

      NOTE:
      • For a vehicle with side airbag, the side airbag may not active normally with unless the bracket is securely installed.
      • Check that the strap has no twist after installing the bracket.

  29. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BACK ASSY 
    1. Install the front seat back assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 43.1 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

    2. Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to damage the cover.
      • When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as little as possible.
  30. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER) 
    1. Set the seat heater to the seat cushion cover.
    2. Install the seat heater to the seat cushion cover with the 32 tack pins.
      NOTE:
      • Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.

  31. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER 
    1. Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to damage the cover.
      • When installing hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as little as possible.

  32. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSY 
    1. Install the front seat cushion assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  33. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    1. Install the front seat inner belt assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

  34. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSY LH 
    1. Set the front seat assembly LH to the vehicle.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the cover.
    2. Install the front seat assembly LH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 36.8 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE: Check that the seat adjuster locked.
