IOD Fuse: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

All vehicles are equipped with an Ignition-Off Draw (IOD) fuse that is mounted in an asymmetrical holder within the Integrated Power Module (IPM). Prior to delivery to the customer, this fuse is positioned to provide power for the "always on" equipment only when the ignition is in the ON position. This avoids long term drain on the battery during shipping and storage. Dealer personnel are to reverse the IOD fuse in its holder, switching these features to battery power just prior to new vehicle delivery.
