Instrument Panel: Removal
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISHES
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATES
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL (See STEERING WHEEL )
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the steering column covers.
- REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH
- REMOVE END PAD
Using a screwdriver, remove the end pad.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE NO. 1 UNDER COVER
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Remove the No. 1 under cover.
- REMOVE NO. 1 SAFETY PAD
- Remove the 2 screws and hood lock control.
- Remover the 4 bolts and screw.
- Remove the No. 1 safety pad.
- REMOVE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE
- REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN
- Remove the 4 nuts.
Torque: 25 N.m (250 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)
- Disconnect the spring from the brake pedal.
- Remove the steering column.
- Remove the 4 nuts.
- REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE COMBINATION METER
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Remove the meter, then disconnect the connectors.
- REMOVE NO. 2 UNDER COVER
Using a screwdriver, remove the No. 2 under cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Remove the airbag connector from the plate.
- Disconnect the airbag connector.
- REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Open the glove compartment door, then remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the glove compartment panel assembly.
- REMOVE CD CHANGER
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the CD changer bracket.
- REMOVE ASH RECEPTACLE
- REMOVE NO. 2 REGISTER
- Using a screwdriver, remove the No. 2 register.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the No. 2 register.
- REMOVE AUDIO
- Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws.
- Disconnect the connector, then remove the audio.
- REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
- Using a screwdriver, pry out the cluster finish panel.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Using a screwdriver, pry out the cluster finish panel.
- REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
- REMOVE LOWER REAR CONSOLE BOX
- REMOVE REAR CONSOLE ARMREST
- REMOVE NO. 3 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET
- REMOVE CONSOLE BOX
- REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
- REMOVE NO. 7 HEATER TO REGISTER
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD
- Remove the 5 bolts and nut and screw.
- Remove the instrument panel safety pad.
- REMOVE NO. 1 BRACE
- REMOVE NO. 2 BRACE
- REMOVE REINFORCEMENT
- Remove the 5 nuts and 4 bolts.
- Remove the reinforcement.
- REMOVE LOWER DEFROSTER NOZZLE
