Valve Body Assembly: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove drain plug with gasket and drain automatic transmission fluid.
  3. Remove oil pan. See DRAINING & REFILLING .
  4. Remove oil filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING .
  5. Remove solenoid valve wiring with ATF temperature sensor using the following steps:
    1. Disconnect ATF temperature sensor.
    2. Remove bolt and clamp. See Figure.
    3. Disconnect 7 connectors from solenoid valves.
    4. Remove bolt and pull out solenoid valve connector. See Figure.
  6. Remove 21 bolts to remove valve body. See Figure.
  7. Remove check ball body and spring. See Figure.
  8. Remove solenoid valves using the following steps:
    1. Remove 4 bolts and solenoid valves No. 1, 2, 3 and 4.
    2. Remove bolt, lock plate, and solenoid valve SLT.
    3. Remove 2 "O" rings from solenoid valves No. 2 and 4.
    4. Remove bolt, lock plate and solenoid valves SLU and SLT. See Figure.
