Fuel Injector Assembly: Installation

  1. Install a NEW grommet and an insulator to injector. Check for dirt or damage in groove for "O" ring of injector. Apply a little gasoline to NEW "O" ring and install to injector. Install injector to delivery pipe, rotating injector both ways. Check that injector can turn smoothly. If injector cannot turn smoothly, "O" ring might be caught on something.
  2. Install injector to delivery pipe and lower intake manifold as shown in figure. See Fig 1. Turn injector both ways approximately 45 degrees. Insert a spacer between delivery pipe and intake manifold. Install delivery pipe subassemblies with injector and tighten 2 nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Insert 2 NEW gaskets and install fuel main hose with fuel pressure pulsation damper. See Figure. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install vacuum switching valve assembly No. 1. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install fuel pipe sub-assembly No. 3. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install NEW gaskets between fuel pipe sub-assembly No. 1 and fuel delivery pipe. Install fuel pipe sub-assembly No. 1 with union bolt on each part. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install air cleaner hose assembly. Check for fuel leaks. Install engine cover and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
