Park/Neutral Position Switch

  1. Apply parking brake and turn ignition switch on.
  2. Depress brake pedal and check that engine starts only when shift lever is set in "N" or "P" position and does not start in any other position.
  3. Check that back-up light is lit and reverse warning buzzer sounds only when shift lever is set in "R" position.
  4. If a failure is found, check park/neutral position switch for continuity. See Step 4 in Figure.
