Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
If not using the LEXUS hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 2.
- Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Check the hood courtesy switch using DATA LIST. If the results are OK, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX (BODY NO. 2 CONTROL SYSTEM) table. If the results are not good, go to the next step.
- Remove the engine hood lock assembly. See ENGINE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY . Disconnect the engine hood courtesy switch connector. Check continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 of the engine hood courtesy switch connector when the engine hood lock is locked and unlocked. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . See INSPECTING ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH CONTINUITY table. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the engine hood courtesy switch. See ENGINE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.INSPECTING ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH CONTINUITY
