Climate Control Seat System: Description

  1. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION 
    1. While the climate control seat is operated, if the indicator of the climate control switch blinks in any pattern shown in the illustration, the climate control ECU will enter the FAIL-SAFE mode.
    2. Identifying the blinking pattern, take appropriate actions shown in the table below to troubleshoot according to the flowchart.

  2. FAIL-SAFE CHART

    Blinking Pattern Detection Item Symptoms Fail-Safe deactivation condition Flow chart No.
    1 Seat climate controller excess current. Climate control does not operate. Turn climate control switch to OFF, and turn climate control switch to ON again. 1
    Fan motor excess current.
    2 Open or short in climate control switch circuit. Climate control does not operate. Turn ignition switch to OFF, and turn ignition switch ON again. 2
    3 Open or short in thermistor circuit. Climate control does not operate. Turn climate control switch to OFF, and turn climate control switch to ON again. 3
    4 Open or short in climate control circuit. Climate control does not operate. Turn climate control switch to OFF, and turn climate control switch to ON again. 4
    - Climate controller temperature too high.
    • Cool air does not come out.
    • Warm air does not come out.
