Fail-Safe Mode Chart

If any of following codes are recorded, engine control module (ECM) enters fail-safe mode. See IDENTIFYING FAIL-SAFE MODE CHART  table.

IDENTIFYING FAIL-SAFE MODE CHART

DTC No. Fail-Safe Operation Fail-Safe Deactivation Conditions
P0100 Ignition Timing Fixed At 10° BTDC Returned To Normal Condition
P0110 Intake Air Temperature Fixed At 68°F (20°C) Returned To Normal Condition
P0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Fixed At 176°F (80°C) Returned To Normal Condition
P0120 VTA Fixed At 0° Following Condition Is Repeated At Least 2 Times Consecutively When Closed Throttle Position Switch Is OFF: VTA Is Greater Than Or Equal To 0.1 V & Less Than Or Equal To 0.95 V
P0135 & P0141 Abnormal Heater Circuit Is Turned Off Ignition Switch OFF
P0325 Max. Timing Retardation Ignition Switch OFF
P1300, P1305, P1310 & P1315 Fuel Cut Returned To Normal Condition
P1656 It Cut Electrically Abnormal Circuit Returned To Normal Condition
