Section 150 (Cruise Control Systems): Operation: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Toyota Avalon. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Pressing cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON position activates cruise control system. CRUISE indicator light on instrument cluster illuminates to indicate activation of system. To set speed, operate vehicle at a desired speed over 25 MPH. Depress SET/COAST button and release button. Vehicle speed will now be maintained. Vehicle can be temporarily accelerated to a higher speed. When accelerator pedal is released, vehicle will return to preset speed.

Setting cruise control switch to RES/ACC position allows vehicle to return to speed set before cancellation. Depressing cruise control button to RES/ACC position and holding it gradually increases vehicle speed. Depressing cruise control button to SET/COAST position and holding it gradually decreases vehicle speed. When RES/ACC or SET/COAST buttons are depressed and released, vehicle speed will change one MPH.
