Without Hand-Held Sensor

  1. Turn ignition switch off.
  2. Using special tool (09843-18040), jumper bettween terminals Ts and CG of (DLC3). See Figure.
  3. Start engine and check that ABS warning light flashes. If ABS warning light does not flash, inspect ABS warning light circuit and Ts circuit. See SYSTEM TESTING .
  4. Keep vehicle in a stationary condition on a flat surface for one second or more.
  5. Depress brake pedal with 33 ft.lb. (147 N) or more for one second or more.
  6. Let up pressure and then depress brake pedal quickly with 22 ft.lb. (98 N) or more. ABS warning light comes on for 3 seconds.
  7. Drive vehicle straight forward and faster than 28 MPH for several seconds. Check that ABS warning light turns off.
  8. Stop vehicle. Using special tool (09843-18040), jumper between terminals Tc and CG of (DLC3). See Figure.
  9. Read number of flashes of ABS warning light. If every sensor is normal, a normal code is output. If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time, the lowest numbered code will be displayed first. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
  10. If any DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
  11. After doing test, turn ignition switch off and remove special tool.
