Description & Operation

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

System consists of a power main relay, power window fuses, power window switches and power window motors for each door. The power window switch on front doors are part of the door electronic control unit (ECU). The driver door ECU may be referred to as the master window switch. The front passenger door ECU may be referred to as power window switch. The power window system is part of the multiplex communication network. The body control ECU monitors driver door ECU, front passenger door ECU and rear window switches. The driver and front passenger door ECUs control operation of front power windows. Driver power window switch offers one-touch operation of driver window. Driver power window switch also includes a lock-out feature to prevent passengers from operating any of the other power window switches.
