Inspection Procedure

  1. Check If Radio Auto-Search Functions Properly 
    1. Check if the radio auto-search function properly.
      1. Perform the auto-research of the radio and check that the operation is normal.

      Standard: Malfunction Disappear 

    1. NG: Go to step   5 
    2. OK: Go To Next Step 
  2. Press "EJECT" And Check Operation 
    1. Press "EJECT" and check the operation.
      1. Press the CD EJECT switch of the radio receiver assembly for 2 sec. or more to see if the CD is ejected.

      Standard: CD Is Ejected 

    NOTE:
    • If the CD is not ejected, send the vehicle for repair.
    • Do not try top draw it out by force.
    1. NG: Check And Replace Radio Receiver Assembly 
    2. OK: Go To Next Step 
  3. Check If A Proper CD Is Inserted 
    1. Check that a proper CD is inserted.
      1. Make sure that the CD is a normal music CD, and that there is no deformation, flaw, stain, burr and other defects on the CD.

      Standard: Normal Music CD 

    NOTE:
    • Translucent or different-shaped CD cannot be played.
    • CD-ROM for personal computers (with music recorded in) and recorded CD-R, CD-R/W may not be played.
    • Playing an 8-cm CD does not require an adapter.
    1. NG: CD Faulty 
    2. OK: Go To Next Step 
  4. Replace CD With Another And Recheck 
    1. Replace the CD with another and recheck.
      1. Replace the faulty CD with normal one to see if the same trouble occurs again.

      Standard: The Operation Returns To Be Normal 

    1. OK: CD Faulty 
    2. NG: Go To Next Step 
  5. Inspect Radio Receiver Assembly (+B, ACC, GND) 
    1. Remove the radio receiver assembly with connectors with still connected.
    2. Check voltage.
      1. Measure voltage between terminals +B, ACC and GND of radio receiver assembly at each condition, as shown in Fig 2.

      Standard:

    3. Check continuity.
      1. Check that the continuity exists between terminal GND of radio receiver assembly and body ground.

      Standard: Continuity Exists 

    1. OK: Check And Replace Radio Receiver Assembly 
    2. NG: Repair Or Replace Harness Or Connector
